Strong growth thanks to targeted acquisitions
In 2021, our electronics reach Mars: printed circuit boards from Cicor are used in the memory modules of the Perseverance Mars rover – an impressive demonstration of highly reliable electronics under extreme conditions.
From 2021 onwards, we accelerate our growth through targeted acquisitions, expand our strategic market reach and capabilities, and actively help shape the consolidation of the European EMS industry.
With the acquisition of Axis Electronics Ltd. in the United Kingdom, we make the first acquisition under our growth strategy in 2021. 180 employees join Cicor, strengthening our position in the British Aerospace & Defence market. SMT Elektronik GmbH in Dresden follows in 2022. At the beginning of 2023, we acquire three EMS sites in Germany and Tunisia from Phoenix Mecano. In March 2023, we also acquire and consolidate the thin-film business of AFT microwave GmbH, thereby expanding our expertise in thin-film technology.
Together, these acquisitions strengthen our capabilities and geographical presence as well as our position in strategic markets. Step by step, a pan-European competence network is taking shape.
